The seed that germinates to become the form of any action, initiative, project, organisation, or venture is its most potent and powerful driving force.

The Holos Group started under another name in another time, but with the same fundamental guiding ‘seed’ – to explore and create the best possible version of the future for all humanity.

The earlier name was THOR Research. The name bought together two key themes: first, Third Horizon (THOR) visioning and strategy development – the exploration and ongoing inquiry into the third horizon of individuals, groups, organisations, communities and society itself. The third horizon invites the creation of the best possible version of the future along all of these planes of experience. The second key theme came from Norse mythology. Thor was the hammer wielding ‘God Of Thunder’ associated with thunder, lightning, oak trees, strength, destruction, fertility, healing, new beginnings, and the protection of humanity. The mythology of Thor is a poignant metaphor that that speaks to our purpose of being a spark that cracks open new realities and a catalyst for transformative change. It was these two seeds that germinated THOR Research in 2001 and became The Holos Group in 2009.

The present form of THOR Research, The Holos Group, was germinated in 2009 as a result of extensive research into the enablers of evolving individual and collective consciousness and the role of a common spirituality in its unfolding. The Group is both a large-scale innovation incubator and a web of global change makers focused on developing the individual and collective potential and potency of leaders to affect whole-system change and transformation. We work across sectors with the global system to enable it to become aware of itself – conscious – so as to co-create its best possible version of itself in service of a more compassionate, connected, trusting and sustainable world. We demonstrate entrepreneurship in action.

The Holos Group is a Community of Practice and a collaboratory of ‘free agents’ that:

1. acts as a new ideas incubator – new ideas to co-evolve humanity towards its best possible version of itself;
2. provides thought leadership beyond the edge – working with a future-to-now focus, we continue to shine the light on the third horizon of humanity; and
3. is a first response for large scale transformative social change.

We are ‘positive radicals’ disrupting the status-quo and unlocking energy within the global system to explore the best possible version of the future for all humanity.
